About the role

As a Marine Engineer Submariner (MESM) with the Royal Navy, you will be an integral part of a highly trained team responsible for supporting the safe operation of a submarine's nuclear reactor and all vital support systems. This accelerated apprenticeship offers the unique opportunity to work on board advanced submarines, ensuring the nation's nuclear deterrent is operational or participating in classified hunter-killer operations. Upon completion, you will be qualified as a Level 3 Maritime Mechanical Fitter, equivalent to 2 A-Levels, with opportunities to gain further academic qualifications up to degree level. This role demands quick thinking, a passion for cutting-edge technology, strong problem-solving abilities, excellent teamwork, and a high level of physical and mental fitness.
