About the role

This apprenticeship with the Royal Navy trains you to become a Mine Warfare Specialist. You'll be responsible for ensuring missions are possible, from delivering humanitarian aid to conflict operations. Key duties include using sonar to find mines and launching remote-controlled disposal vehicles. You will also gain skills in basic seamanship and weaponry, and be responsible for the safety of the ship and its crew. This role requires quick thinking and constant focus.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Math and English: GCSE Level 4 (Desired), Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Administrative skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Creative, Initiative, Non judgemental, Patience. No other qualifications required as long as you pass a Recruit Test and are in good health and fitness.
