About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded apprenticeship for an Apprentice Dental Nurse, leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma by City & Guilds. The role involves assisting dentists, sterilising and preparing equipment, performing reception duties, and supporting the overall patient experience. Key responsibilities include providing chair-side support, managing patient reception, handling queries, taking payments, booking appointments, sterilising equipment, maintaining patient records, and ensuring patient wellbeing. The apprenticeship also covers managing stock and other administrative tasks to support the dental team. Upon completion, there are opportunities for career progression into roles such as team leader, dental practice manager, or further training to become a dental therapist, hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Desired skills include strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and team working abilities, along with patience and a non-judgemental approach to patient care.
