About the role
Playhouse Day Nursery is seeking a passionate Apprentice Early Years Educator to join their team in Cheltenham. This role is ideal for someone who is already qualified to Level 2 or has experience in childcare and wishes to progress to Level 3. The apprentice will be responsible for planning and delivering fun and educational activities for children, while also ensuring their developmental and personal needs are met. Key duties include supporting children's play, creative experiences, maintaining development records, supervising mealtimes and rest times, contributing to health and safety, and maintaining a clean play area. The role also involves working closely with parents. Useful qualities for this position include being friendly, approachable, patient, caring, flexible, reliable, trustworthy, motivated, and able to work on initiative. The nursery is a private, all-day care facility that opened in 1994, catering to pre-school children and offering before and after school care for Lakeside Primary School. The nursery is managed by an experienced individual with an honours degree in Early Childhood Studies and has a team of well-qualified and experienced staff. Facilities include large playrooms with adjoining playgrounds, a quiet room, child-sized conveniences, and a sensory room. The training will be provided by ASPIRATION TRAINING LIMITED and will cover the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard, Functional Skills in Maths and English (if required), Paediatric First Aid, and End-Point Assessment, with a combination of on and off-the-job training.
Entry requirements
- GCSE Maths and English at grade 4-9, or equivalent. Desired communication skills, team working, attention to detail, organisation skills, problem-solving skills, patience, and creativity.
