Learning Support Apprentice

About the role

This is an opportunity for a Learning Support Apprentice at Weston College. The role involves providing essential learning support to students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The apprentice will help students develop independence and achieve their full potential. Key duties include writing and implementing Additional Learning Support (ALS) Plans, providing 1:1 or small group support, assisting with personal care and medical needs if required, collaborating with teaching staff to adapt learning materials, and maintaining student support records. The apprentice will also be involved in liaising with parents/carers and external agencies, and assisting with public exams and formal assessments. Generic duties include safeguarding, adhering to college policies, and contributing to college events. This is a term-time only position.

Entry requirements

• GCSE English Grade C/4 and Maths Grade C/4. Strong communication skills, IT skills, patience, and a non-judgemental attitude are essential.
