About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a Community Activator Coach through an apprenticeship at Octanauts Swim School. Over 22 months, you will gain a Level 2 Apprenticeship qualification while developing essential skills in a supportive environment. Daily tasks include setting up for lessons, maintaining venue cleanliness, assisting children and individuals with differing abilities in the water, supporting instructors for advanced classes, and progressing to leading your own classes. You will also be trained in safeguarding and supporting participants with SEN&D requirements. This part-funded apprenticeship is ideal for 16-24 year olds who have faced barriers to education or employment, offering a chance to build confidence and a career in the leisure industry. No prior experience is needed; enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are key. Coach Core provides additional support throughout the program. In the long term, successful apprentices can aim to become permanent members of the teaching team, explore other avenues in the leisure industry like lifeguarding or fitness instruction, and gain valuable transferable employability skills.
