About the role
Support the stockman and farm owner in caring for livestock and land. Responsibilities include daily checks of sheep, cattle, pigs, and game birds, assisting with feeding, bedding, cleaning, and housing. Learn calm and safe livestock handling, assist with seasonal tasks like lambing and calving. Support grazing plans, help grade livestock, and maintain accurate records. Assist in designing farm research to refine management practices. Requires GCSE English and Maths (grades 1-9), strong communication, IT, attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, and number skills. Must be a team player with initiative, patience, and a genuine interest in livestock and organic farming. Willingness to work outdoors and be hardworking is essential. Driving license is essential, and own transport is preferred due to the work location.
