About the role

Train in horticulture and grounds maintenance at Aston Villa Football Club. Gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced staff, and build skills across landscaped areas and lawns in a professional environment. Complete recognised apprenticeship training while developing the practical skills needed for a career in horticulture.

Duties include preparing and maintaining landscaped areas, carrying out grass cutting, pruning, weeding, planting, and supporting various horticultural tasks. You will also learn to use hand tools and light machinery safely, follow health and safety procedures, and complete record keeping. The role involves developing knowledge of horticultural practices and grounds maintenance, and assisting the gardening team across Club sites.

Entry requirements

  • GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above are desired. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, organisation skills, teamwork, physical fitness, a proactive and enthusiastic attitude, and a passion for horticulture are essential.
