About the role
We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic individual with a passion for sport and working with young people to join the Physical Education (PE) department at Wrenn School as a Sports Teaching Assistant Apprentice. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
The apprentice will support PE teachers in delivering high-quality sports and physical education lessons, assist with after-school sports clubs, and help organise school sports events and competitions. Key responsibilities include encouraging students' skill development, teamwork, and love for sports, communicating effectively with young people, demonstrating an understanding of the PE National Curriculum, and maintaining sporting equipment safely. The role also involves supporting positive behaviour and enhancing the school's sporting and healthy lifestyle profile.
Entry requirements
- GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above. Essential skills include communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, presentation, administrative, number skills, analytical skills, logic, teamwork, creativity, initiative, being non-judgemental, patience, and physical fitness.
