About the role

This apprenticeship is ideal for someone with some prior knowledge and experience within a nursery or school setting and especially someone passionate in childcare and early years, looking to further their career.

Duties include providing an excellent range of activities that ensures that the child learns whilst having fun, supporting children’s learning and development (including planning and observations), preparing and maintaining the environment and resources, preparing food, and supporting children’s self-help needs. The role requires creativity, enthusiasm, adherence to safeguarding rules, and undertaking First Aid and other appropriate training. Health and Hygiene requirements must always be adhered to.

Upon completion, you will develop into a Level 3 practitioner with the potential for a permanent position. Career progression opportunities include other childcare-orientated roles such as social work, teaching, or managerial positions. The employer is a family-run nursery in Kirkstall providing full-time childcare for children aged three months to five years, offering a warm, home-from-home environment.
