Apprentice Teaching Assistant

About the role

A 15-month Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship at Leeds City College, supporting learners with SEND and high needs. You will help students with lessons, develop learning resources, monitor progress and work with staff to support academic and personal development. You will earn a recognised qualification. Duties include supporting learners with High Needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to thrive, working in classes on a one-to-one or small group basis to ensure engagement with theory, practical, English and Mathematics lessons. You will also work outside the classroom to create a productive learning environment, work closely with curriculum and support colleagues, teach, assess, and give feedback to learners, and devise appropriate learning resources. A professional, approachable, and flexible approach is required, along with responsibility for accurate record keeping and a Restorative Practice approach to resolving difficult circumstances.

Entry requirements

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above.
