About the role

Kick-start your engineering career with ETD Consulting! This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in materials testing, specialist inspections, and engineering equipment, leading to a recognized qualification. You'll prepare metal samples, examine materials using microscopes and lab equipment, assist with non-destructive testing, and support the maintenance of testing equipment. Responsibilities also include recording test results, assisting with technical documentation, and working alongside experienced engineers. You'll maintain a safe laboratory environment and follow health and safety procedures. Opportunities exist for troubleshooting equipment, improving testing processes, and supporting engineering inspections at client sites, with potential for UK and overseas travel.

To be considered, applicants must have GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above. Strong communication, IT, attention to detail, and organizational skills are essential. You'll need problem-solving abilities, customer care skills, and the capacity for teamwork and initiative. The role demands patience, logical thinking, and physical fitness. Applicants must be able to travel reliably to the Leatherhead office daily and be flexible for UK and international travel. Due to overseas travel, candidates must be 18 or over, hold a valid passport, and meet immigration requirements. Comfort working at height and following strict health and safety procedures is also necessary. A driving license is not required.
