About the role

Embark on a career in the dynamic motor vehicle industry with this apprenticeship. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience working full-time in a garage, complemented by one day a week of college attendance. This program offers the opportunity to earn while you learn, developing essential mechanical skills and acquiring nationally recognised qualifications, including training in electric and hybrid vehicles. As a Motor Vehicle Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced mechanics, assisting with vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs. Your duties will include basic vehicle checks, learning to inspect and replace components like brakes and suspension, assisting with engine diagnostics, and using specialized equipment. You'll also gain exposure to electric and hybrid vehicle technology, and maintain a safe workshop environment. As you progress, you'll take on more responsibility and work towards independent task completion. Upon successful completion, there's potential for permanent employment as a qualified Vehicle Technician, with avenues to advance to roles such as Senior Technician, Diagnostic Technician, MOT Tester, or Workshop Manager, with specialisms in electric and hybrid vehicles.
