About the role

This is a Level 3 Teaching Apprenticeship at Westfield Primary School, Radstock, offered by MIDSOMER NORTON SCHOOLS PARTNERSHIP. As an apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will support children in accessing learning, adapt and reframe activities, and be trained to lead small intervention groups. Duties include supporting daily school routines, hearing children read, supporting emotional wellbeing, and upholding the school's vision and values. Essential qualifications include GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Key skills required are communication, organisation, teamwork, creativity, initiative, being non-judgemental, and patience. The training will be delivered by SOMERSET SKILLS & LEARNING CIC, leading to a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard, potentially including Functional Skills Level 2 in maths and English. The apprenticeship is for 1 year and 6 months, with a start date of 2026-11-16 and closing date of 2026-11-06. Successful candidates will be subject to a DBS check.
