Teaching Assistant

About the role

This Level 3 apprenticeship prepares you to become a Teaching Assistant, supporting classroom teachers and aiding pupil progress. The role combines paid school employment with dedicated off-the-job training, accounting for 20% of your working hours. You will gain knowledge in child development, national frameworks, safeguarding, legislation, and Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND).

Key duties include working across different classes within the school, supporting children and young people aged 5 to 19 in activities tailored to their individual needs, and helping pupils develop into successful adults with Autism. You will learn and implement various approaches and strategies to overcome barriers to learning. This apprenticeship offers a pathway for further learning and progression to a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role.

Entry requirements

• Desired: GCSE English A-C, GCSE Mathematics A-C. Key skills include communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, presentation, administrative skills, teamwork, creativity, initiative, and patience.
