Chemistry Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship - Level 3

About the role

This Level 3 Apprenticeship in Chemistry Laboratory Technician is offered by AWE: Nuclear Security Technologies at their Alverstoke site in Gosport, Hampshire. The 24-month apprenticeship, followed by a 3-month End Point Assessment, focuses on supporting practical science and radiation safety in a unique laboratory environment. The role involves preparing and testing samples, using laboratory equipment, and accurately recording and reporting results. Applicants must be British Nationals, aged 18 or over by 31 August 2027, and possess 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths, and Science at grade 6/B or above. Successful candidates will need to obtain and maintain security clearance. Upon completion, apprentices can progress to a laboratory technician role within Defence Radiation Protection Services.

Entry requirements

• 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above including English and Maths, plus Science at grade 6/B or above. Applicants must be British Nationals and aged 18 or over by 31 August 2027.
