About the role
Embark on a 6-year Level 6 Apprenticeship in Electronic Design with AWE: Nuclear Security Technologies. This onsite role based in Aldermaston, Reading, offers a starting salary of £24,500, increasing to £26,000 in Year 2, and a 9-day working fortnight. You will design, build, test, and understand the electronics that support complex systems, gaining practical skills in circuit design, components, fault finding, testing, and measurements. Entry requirements include an A Level in Maths and another STEM subject at Grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications, plus 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above including Maths and English. Applicants must be British Nationals aged 18 or over by 31 August 2027 and willing to obtain the required security clearance. Upon completion, career paths include Electronic Design Engineer roles with specializations in analogue electronics, firmware, digital electronics, pulsed power, RF electronics, embedded software, or electronic systems engineering.
Entry requirements
- An A Level in Maths and another STEM subject at Grade C or above, or equivalent BTEC Level 3, HNC, HND or T Level in a relevant discipline, plus 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above including Maths and English.
