About the role

Are you passionate about working with children? Just Childcare Limited is looking for an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner at their Yeadon Day Nursery in Leeds. This role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in childcare, observe experienced practitioners, and work towards a professional qualification while earning. Duties include observing teaching and play, maintaining children's records, understanding safeguarding policies, and ensuring the health and safety of children. You will be supported by qualified staff, build relationships with children and parents, and help plan activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The apprenticeship is for the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner standard and includes on-the-job training and 20% off-the-job learning. Upon completion of the Level 2 pathway, apprentices typically become qualified Nursery Assistants within 12 months, with opportunities to progress to the Level 3 Pathway.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English Language at grade 4, GCSE Mathematics at grade 4. Desired skills include communication, creativity, initiative, being non-judgemental, organization, and patience.
