About the role
HECKMONDWIKE GRAMMAR SCHOOL ACADEMY TRUST is seeking an Apprentice Science Technician to join their busy Science Department. The role involves supporting a team of four technicians and seventeen teaching staff. The apprentice will be responsible for preparing and setting up laboratory equipment, maintaining apparatus, assisting teachers with practicals, managing stock levels of chemicals and consumables, and ensuring laboratory safety. This role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team. The apprenticeship is for 2 years, with training provided by KIRKLEES COLLEGE one day per week. Successful candidates will undergo an End Point Assessment comprising a knowledge test, observation with questioning, and an interview.
Entry requirements
- GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Science, Maths, and English.
