About the role

Whitefriars Surgery (The Red Practice) is seeking a friendly and organised individual to join its supportive team as a Digital Patient Services Apprentice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a professional, compassionate, and welcoming service. Responsibilities include managing appointments, triaging patient queries, signposting to appropriate services, and maintaining accurate records using clinical systems. You will also work towards a qualification in Digital Applications Support, building system knowledge and developing a long-term career. Key duties involve handling patient and professional communications, processing appointment requests, triaging queries, becoming a DOCMAN system expert, maintaining patient records, inputting and coding data, processing referrals, managing correspondence, supporting patient registrations, and processing system requests. Desirable skills include being friendly, professional, approachable, having excellent communication and interpersonal skills, being highly organised with strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment. Working hours are Monday to Friday, covering shifts between 8am and 6pm. The apprenticeship offers a flexible working approach and a high chance of securing permanent employment upon completion.
