About the role

Join B&Q as a Showroom Advisor Apprentice and help customers bring their home improvement projects to life. This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in design, product recommendation, and customer service within a leading DIY and home improvement retailer. You will be responsible for creating designs using software, recommending suitable finance, products, and installation options, and guiding customers through their projects from inspiration to delivery. The role involves coordinating multiple projects, supporting customers both virtually and face-to-face, and working closely with colleagues and installers to ensure excellent service. You will be motivated by targets and confident in converting designs into sales, with a focus on teamwork, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Flexibility to work a rota including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays is required. The apprenticeship is expected to last 13 months, with ongoing training and development opportunities provided. B&Q is a well-established British multinational company with a strong focus on customer experience and employee development.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above. Desired skills include communication, teamwork, problem-solving, customer care, and attention to detail.
