About the role

Lloyd's Register is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as a Laboratory Technician Apprentice. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to work towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician qualification. The role involves carrying out preparation and testing on submitted samples, adhering to established procedures and utilizing both basic and advanced instrument techniques. Key responsibilities include performing sample preparation, maintaining accurate records, entering data into the laboratory management system, and analyzing samples to an acceptable standard. The apprentice will ensure all laboratory work follows agreed procedures, report any practical or QHSE issues to supervisors, and produce test results and reports. The apprenticeship duration is 2 years, with training provided by Middlesbrough College on a day-release basis.
