Apprentice Learning Support Assistant

About the role

Nerrols Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Apprentice Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This role involves supporting pupils in the classroom, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), to help them engage with learning and achieve their full potential. Responsibilities include supporting learning individually and in small groups, assisting with SEND strategies, encouraging independence and positive behavior, and monitoring progress. The apprentice will also support pupils during lunchtime, ensuring a safe and positive experience, and promoting positive social interaction. Additionally, the role involves supporting pupil wellbeing, promoting safeguarding and health & safety, and working professionally with staff, parents, and carers. The apprenticeship includes attending training and professional development opportunities. Upon completion, qualified apprentices may be considered for roles within the Richard Huish Trust.

Entry requirements

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or equivalent. Strong communication, attention to detail, organisation, problem-solving, and teamwork skills are essential.
