About the role
STAUNTON-ON-WYE PRE-SCHOOL is seeking a passionate Childcare Apprentice to join their team. This role involves assisting in the daily care and supervision of children, engaging them in age-appropriate activities, and supporting their physical, emotional, and social development. You will help plan and deliver learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, promoting communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills. Key responsibilities include assisting with feeding, changing, and maintaining a clean and safe environment according to hygiene and safety procedures. The apprentice will work closely with nursery practitioners, teachers, and parents, providing feedback on children's progress and adhering to nursery policies, including safeguarding. Essential skills include a passion for working with children, strong communication and teamwork, patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. GCSEs in English and maths are preferred but not always essential. The apprenticeship offers fully funded Level 3 Early Years Educator training, hands-on experience in a supportive environment, a paid apprenticeship, and opportunities for career progression. Previous experience in an early years setting is preferred but not required. The pre-school is located in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside and operates during term time.
