About the role

This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to join British Gas Business (Centrica PLC) as a Business Analysis Apprentice. You will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of data analysis, reporting, and business insight activities within the Insights & Workflow team. The role involves working with large datasets, extracting, cleaning, and transforming information for operational reporting and decision-making. You will assist in creating and maintaining dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Excel, and SQL, and help develop simple insights to inform business performance analysis. Responsibilities include gathering business requirements, testing data sources and logic, and supporting process improvement initiatives. You will manage your workload effectively, contribute to team knowledge sharing, and build significant technical, analytical, and business knowledge through structured learning and practical application. Upon successful completion, there are opportunities to progress into permanent analyst or business intelligence roles.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths, English and Science: C or equivalent (Essential). Strong communication, attention to detail, organisation, problem-solving, presentation, analytical, and technical skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required. Numeracy, root cause investigation, written communication, stakeholder engagement, curiosity, self-motivation, ability to manage multiple priorities, and a collaborative, customer-focused mindset are also key.
