About the role
As a carpentry apprentice, you will learn all aspects of carpentry and joinery, including building and construction work. You will be expected to learn how to measure, cut, and build using materials, working with wood on a day-to-day basis and requiring precision. Duties involve shaping and cutting materials, installing finished materials, and using appropriate tools to the specified quality. Good communication skills are essential for dealing with customers and colleagues. A high level of stamina is desirable due to the physical nature of the work. You may be working in people's homes, so responsibility at all times is crucial. Upon completion, you'll have the opportunity to progress to a higher-level apprenticeship or become self-employed.
