About the role

This is a Level 2 Carpentry Apprenticeship opportunity with MR JONATHAN PEABODY, located in Liskeard. The apprenticeship is for a duration of 1 year and 6 months, with a salary of £16,640 per year. The role involves shaping and cutting materials, installing finished materials, and using appropriate tools to specified quality standards. Good communication skills are essential, as apprentices will interact with customers and colleagues. Physical fitness is desirable due to the physically demanding nature of the work. Apprentices may be working in people's homes and must be responsible at all times.

Upon completion, there is an opportunity to progress to a higher-level apprenticeship or become self-employed. The training provider is SKILLS TO GROUP LIMITED. The apprenticeship standard is Carpentry and Joinery Level 2, which includes a Construction Skills Health, Safety and Environment test and a CSCS test. Apprentices will attend the Skills Group training centre one day per week, with on-site training delivered by the employer. A Skills Group assessor will visit every six to eight weeks to monitor progress.
