About the role

Sala Thai Kitchen is seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Production Chef Apprentice to join their award-winning team in St. Albans. This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to develop professional culinary skills in a busy restaurant environment, focusing on preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes while adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards. The program follows the ST0589 Production Chef standard, leading to a Level 2 qualification. Responsibilities include preparing and cooking authentic Thai dishes and menu items, supporting daily food production and service, following recipes and portion control, adapting dishes for dietary needs, maintaining hygiene, assisting with stock management, ensuring kitchen cleanliness, operating specialist equipment safely, and collaborating effectively with the kitchen team and customers. Successful candidates will gain practical experience and a recognized qualification.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths (Level 2-9) and essential skills including communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, presentation, administration, numerical, analytical, logical thinking, teamwork, creativity, initiative, and patience.
