About the role
The Manor House Inn is seeking a Commis Chef apprentice to join their culinary team. This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain foundational knowledge, skills, and behaviours essential for a successful career in the catering and hospitality industry. Key duties include managing food orders, demonstrating basic knife skills, preparing a variety of food items, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, working effectively both independently and as part of a team during service, managing and stocking larder areas, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. Applicants should possess good communication, attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, and presentation skills. They should also be logical, team-oriented, creative, initiative-taking, non-judgmental, and patient. Essential for this role is the ability to travel independently due to the remote location and the need to attend Cornwall College St Austell one day per week for training.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or above.
