About the role

The Clinical Support Worker plays a crucial and respected role within the nursing team, collaborating closely with others to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families or carers. Duties include providing high standards of nursing care, assisting with clinical care duties, preparing environments and equipment, assisting in the collection of specimens, preparing and undertaking delegated treatments, assisting healthcare professionals in carrying out clinical procedures, accurately recording clinical observations and data, reporting issues that may put health, safety, and security at risk, identifying clinical changes in patients and escalating concerns, working within the limits of competence, undertaking delegated tasks correctly, and contributing to the development of own knowledge and skills. The role also involves moving patients and machinery according to trust policies, taking and recording observations, and participating in learning activities. Patients and carers/relatives will be involved in shared decision-making, and reassurance and support will be provided.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4, or equivalent. Desired attributes include attention to detail, customer care skills, teamwork, being non-judgmental, and patience.
