This Level 3 Apprenticeship in Veterinary Nursing (Companion Animal) at NEW LODGE VETERINARY CENTRE LTD in Peterborough offers a comprehensive training program for aspiring veterinary nurses. The role involves working within a supportive small team, gaining practical experience across various areas including theatre work, nursing clinics, lab work, inpatient care, reception, and maintaining practice hygiene. The apprenticeship emphasizes the provision of exceptional patient care and support to both veterinarians and clients. Successful candidates will benefit from paid college fees, VetSkill fees, RCVS student registration, and exam fees. The training involves a blend of theoretical learning through live online classrooms and in-person practical skills training days. A commitment to a rotating weekend rota for inpatient care is required. This is an immersive and demanding role requiring excellent timekeeping, organizational skills, adaptability, and a strong desire to learn and grow within the veterinary field. Upon completion, apprentices will be eligible to register as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN).

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths, English, Science (Grade C/4 or above), and 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above). Excellent communication, organisation, time-keeping, dependability, and teamwork skills are essential. Access to own transport and a driving license are required.
