Duties:
As part of the apprenticeship you will assist in the day-to-day running of the kitchen at a popular Burslem venue, prepping and cooking food through regular service and events.
This will include things such as:
Prepare and cook fresh and frozen meat, fish, and poultry
Prepare and cook fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables
Cook poached, simmered, steamed, boiled, braised, stewed, baked, grilled, and fried dishes
Undertake stock control, storage, and rotation
Work as part of a team to support service delivery
Monitor and record food temperatures and manage allergens during preparation, cooking, holding, and serving
Reduce the waste of resources, acting to measure and reduce plate waste, exercise portion control, and maximise yield
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, along with strong communication, organisation, problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, and initiative skills.
