About the role
Are you looking for a career in horticulture? This apprenticeship with Houghton Regis Town Council offers a hands-on opportunity to develop practical skills in grounds maintenance and community gardening. You will work with the Council's Grounds Team and Community Gardener, gaining experience in maintaining various council-owned spaces including parks, sports grounds, and the cemetery. Key responsibilities include undertaking horticultural tasks, using tools and machinery safely, and contributing to the cleanliness and attractiveness of public spaces. You will also complete off-the-job training and functional skills in English and maths if required, working towards a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscaping Operative qualification. This role involves representing the Council positively when interacting with residents, volunteers, and community groups.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 2 or above. Physical fitness required.
