About the role

Start your engineering career with a world-leading NDT technology company. Gain hands-on experience in electronics, manufacturing and assembly while working towards an HNC in Mechanical/Electronic Engineering, with opportunities for further training and career progression at GUL.

The apprentice will gain practical, hands-on experience supporting the manufacture, assembly and testing of GUL’s specialist engineering products. Typical tasks will include assembling electrical, electronic and mechanical components and products, soldering, using workshop tools safely, following engineering drawings, testing completed assemblies, carrying out quality checks, and supporting the production team with day-to-day manufacturing activities. As skills develop, the apprentice will be given greater responsibility and will be able to complete a range of engineering tasks independently. The training programme will be tailored to the apprentice’s entry level, existing qualifications and experience, and may include BTEC Level 2 and 3 Diplomas, followed by a BTEC Level 4/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. College training is expected to take place at Kingston College, with workplace training, mentoring, and practical experience provided by experienced members of the GUL engineering and production teams. Passing a DBS check is required.
