About the role

Join the National Energy System Operator (NESO) as a Higher Apprentice and contribute to a cleaner, more secure energy future for Great Britain. This three-year structured programme combines on-the-job training with experienced engineering teams, off-the-job learning at a partner college, and in-house technical training. You will study towards a Level 4 HTQ in Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) and a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Electrical Power Network Engineering. The program offers real-world experience in areas like System Operations and Strategic Energy Planning, with potential progression to a Level 5 HND and future engineering roles. As a Trainee Power System Engineer, you will help plan, model, and shape the energy network, analyzing impacts, developing energy systems plans, assessing connection applications, and utilizing analytical tools for engineering decisions. Upon successful completion, you may be considered for a permanent Power System Engineer role.
