About the role

As a Trainee Dispensing Assistant at Jethro's Limited, you will join a busy pharmacy team to support the dispensing and supply of medicines. You will receive comprehensive training and supervision, developing the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviors to work safely and effectively in a pharmacy setting. Key responsibilities include processing prescriptions, preparing medicines, managing stock, and providing excellent customer service. No prior pharmacy experience is required, as all dispensing duties will be conducted under appropriate supervision until you are deemed competent. The role demands organization, accuracy, a willingness to learn, and a strong interest in patient care. Upon successful completion, you will achieve the Pharmacy Services Assistant apprenticeship standard. Duties encompass assisting with prescription processing, assembling medications, utilizing the pharmacy computer system, handling stock, and ensuring a clean and safe environment, all while adhering to strict confidentiality and standard operating procedures.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths: 9 to 4 (A* to C), communication skills, attention to detail, organisation skills, team working, numeracy skills, willing to learn new systems, confidence with IT systems, able to follow instructions, customer service skills, reliable and punctual, careful and accurate, honest and trustworthy, professional and respectful, friendly and approachable, calm under pressure, patient-focused, able to ask for help, positive attitude, responsible, safety-conscious.
