About the role

This apprenticeship offers a 12-month government-funded course leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing, accredited by City & Guilds. The role involves providing chair-side support to dentists, sterilizing and preparing equipment, managing reception duties including patient queries and payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring patient wellbeing and a positive dental experience. You will also be responsible for managing stock and ensuring the cleanliness of dental areas. This hands-on role provides valuable experience within a dental practice, working alongside experienced professionals. Essential requirements include GCSEs in English and Mathematics at grade 4 or above, along with IT, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, and initiative skills. Upon successful completion, there are opportunities for career progression into roles such as dental practice manager or further specialized training to become a dental therapist or hygienist.
