About the role

Gidlow Dental Practice is seeking an Apprentice Dental Nurse to join their friendly team in Wigan. This role offers an exciting opportunity to embark on a career in dental nursing, providing chairside support and high-level oral health care to patients. The apprenticeship combines practical on-the-job training with theoretical learning from Aspiration Training, focusing on essential clinical duties such as assisting dentists, patient care, surgery preparation, instrument sterilization, updating records, and adhering to practice procedures. The program also incorporates VR technology for enhanced learning. Upon successful completion, apprentices will be qualified to register as dental nurses with the General Dental Council (GDC), with potential for career progression into various specialized roles or practice management.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English (4-9) and Maths (4-9). Strong communication, IT, organizational, customer care, administrative, and team working skills are essential. A passion for the dental sector and willingness to handle blood are required. Hepatitis B vaccination and an enhanced DBS check are mandatory.
