About the role

Apprentice Sports Coach (swim specialism) delivering inclusive swimming sessions for children, schools, adults and community groups. Supports lesson planning, delivery and review, holiday camps, SEND inclusion, events and pool safety. Gain swim teacher & lifeguard qualifications. The role involves improving health and well-being by supporting swim sessions and projects, working alongside experienced staff to learn session planning, delivery, and review. It also includes working on holiday camps. The apprentice will be required to travel to various sites across Birmingham. This apprenticeship is for 15 months, leading to a Level 2 Community Activator Apprenticeship qualification with a swimming specialism. Key duties include working directly with the public to increase participation in sport and physical activity, with a focus on swimming. This involves delivering extra-curricular swimming lessons, supporting school swimming curriculum, adult lessons, galas, inflatable fun sessions, water polo, and parent/toddler aquatics. Additional support for children with SEND needs, organising community events, collaborating with partners, and supporting holiday activity schemes are also part of the role. Swimming duty cover may be required.
