About the role

Are you passionate about food, eager to learn, and excited by the buzz of a professional kitchen? We’re looking for a motivated Commis Chef Apprentice to join our team and develop skills needed for a successful career in the hospitality industry. You will prepare, cook, and finish a wide variety of dishes using fresh ingredients, following directions from senior chefs. This role involves carrying out basic cooking tasks under supervision while developing classical and contemporary techniques, accurately measuring and portioning ingredients, and maintaining organised workstations. You will also rotate stock, check deliveries, and communicate clearly to maintain a smooth service flow. Contribute to menu reviews and the refreshing of dishes based on business and customer needs. Professional kitchens are busy, demanding spaces where you’ll need to work quickly, stay organised, and respond to instructions efficiently. You must follow strict hygiene, allergen, and food safety procedures at all times. Kitchens typically operate across weekdays, evenings, and weekends. A permanent position may be on offer upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
