About the role
This is an apprenticeship opportunity for a Commis Chef at Brookes Catering. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen, working alongside experienced staff. Your duties will include preparing ingredients such as chopping, peeling, and slicing, accurately measuring and weighing ingredients, assisting in basic cooking tasks, preparing sauces, salads, and simple dishes, and diligently following recipes and instructions. The apprenticeship is for a duration of 1 year and leads to a permanent position with potential for career progression within the company. This role requires a Level 2 qualification, with essential GCSEs in English and Maths (grade 2 or above). Essential skills include communication, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, and teamwork.
