About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded apprenticeship for an Apprentice Dental Nurse, leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma awarded by City & Guilds. The role involves providing chair-side support to dentists, sterilising and preparing equipment, managing reception duties, dealing with patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, and maintaining patient records. You will also support patient wellbeing, manage stock, and ensure the cleanliness of dental areas. Upon completion, career progression opportunities include roles like team manager, team leader, or dental practice manager. Further training could lead to becoming a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and team working skills are desired. Patience and a non-judgemental approach are essential.
