About the role

Embark on a fulfilling career in dental nursing with this 12-month, government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma apprenticeship. You will gain hands-on experience assisting dentists, sterilising and preparing equipment, performing reception duties, and enhancing the patient experience. This comprehensive program, accredited by City & Guilds, covers all aspects of dental practice, from patient care and record management to stock control and administrative tasks. Upon completion, you'll be well-equipped for a variety of roles within the dental field, with opportunities for progression into management or further specialized training as a dental therapist, hygienist, or orthodontic therapist. The apprenticeship includes on-the-job training at the dental surgery, with functional skills training provided if necessary. Applicants must be 19 or above due to insurance restrictions and will be required to pass a DBS check and receive a Hepatitis B vaccination.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills are essential, along with patience and a non-judgemental approach.
