About the role
As a Learning Support Apprentice at Weston College, you will be responsible for supporting students to overcome barriers to learning. This includes writing and implementing Additional Learning Support (ALS) Plans, providing 1:1 or small group support, assisting students in college activities, and developing their study skills. You will also be involved in providing personal care/medical support as needed, working with SEND Leads on assistive technology, and collaborating with teaching staff to adapt learning materials. Maintaining records of support, attending student reviews, and liaising with parents/carers and external agencies are also key responsibilities. Generic duties include promoting safeguarding, adhering to college policies, participating in performance management, and contributing to college events. This role offers opportunities for progression within the business upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
