About the role
As an Early Years Apprentice, you will contribute to a high-quality caring environment for children. This includes creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere where children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally. Under supervision, you will provide all aspects of care for children, including washing, changing and feeding. You will act as a key worker to a group of children, recording observations and planning for them. You will also assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children, and safeguard and promote the welfare of children. You will be aware of and adhere to nursery policies and procedures, and complete all work to the desired timescales set by the Showcase Tutor. This apprenticeship includes training towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship standard for the Early Years Educator, Functional Skills in Maths and English (unless exempt), and Paediatric First Aid. Training will be completed via work-based visits at the nursery and study time for coursework.
