About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to develop technical skills, build a long-term career in print production and become part of a team that delivers millions of printed products for customers across the UK. The apprenticeship involves learning about newspaper printing presses, assisting with machine set-up and production, maintaining print quality, and observing production processes across various departments. Duties include handling paper reels, stock organisation, waste reduction, routine cleaning, and basic maintenance. Apprentices will also be involved in quality checks, housekeeping, and supporting health & safety procedures. The role requires collaboration with colleagues and full participation in apprenticeship training. This is a fast-paced environment with a combination of classroom and practical training. Shift working and manual handling are involved. Successful apprentices will be considered for permanent employment and have potential progression opportunities within Newsquest Printing.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above.
