About the role

This apprenticeship offers a comprehensive pathway into Manufacturing Engineering at AWE PLC. You will gain a deep understanding of how products and parts are manufactured safely, accurately, and consistently. The program combines university study with practical, hands-on placements at AWE, covering key areas such as precision manufacture, fabrication, joining, assembly, materials processing, tooling, inspection, and new production capability. You will collaborate with various engineering teams, contributing to real engineering tasks, problem-solving, and process improvement. The apprenticeship will also equip you with knowledge of digital manufacturing technologies, safety, quality, cost, delivery, and sustainability within a highly regulated environment. Upon completion, career progression opportunities include roles in new product introduction, manufacturing system design, advanced manufacturing, and continuous improvement, with support towards professional recognition.

Entry requirements

• GCSEs including Maths, English and a Science/Engineering at grade 4/C or above. A-Levels in Maths-based and Science/Technology/Engineering subjects at grade C or above.
