About the role
As a Technician Scientist (Chemistry) Apprentice at AWE, you will gain practical laboratory skills and real-world experience at their Aldermaston and Burghfield sites. You will be placed in areas such as Warhead and Deterrence Materials Science or Warhead Engineering, supporting research, testing, analysis, and product development. The apprenticeship will teach essential skills like laboratory safety, handling hazardous substances, quality standards, data handling, and reporting. You will also participate in personal development activities. Upon completion, you can progress into a laboratory technician role.
Entry requirements
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above), 3 A-Levels including Chemistry and another science or maths (Grade C or above). Desired: BTEC Applied Science (Grade C or above).
