About the role

An apprenticeship opportunity for a busy dental practice who works with both private and NHS patients in our Vicars Cross surgery. You will be an efficient helpful receptionist to the practice and ensure that practice data is collected, stored, maintained and retrieved effectively whilst continually providing patient confidentiality. The role involves working on the reception desk and directing patients on arrival, answering general enquiries, explaining surgery procedures, and using a computerised appointment system as per training. You will also be responsible for sorting and distributing incoming mail, answering the telephone, booking appointments, checking patients in and making new appointments, and taking payments for treatments. You will work closely with dentists, nurses, and fellow receptionists, ensuring that the reception area is left tidy and ready for use by incoming colleagues, together with any information about unresolved or urgent matters. You may be asked to undergo a DBS check. You will continue to develop reception skills and have the opportunity to become involved with other duties within the practice. A permanent position will be considered following on from the apprenticeship.
