About the role
This apprenticeship at Richmond Academy in Oldham offers a fantastic opportunity to become a SEND Teaching Assistant. You will work as part of a professional team, supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Academy Inclusion Hubs. Your responsibilities will include assisting with child-initiated and adult-led activities, supporting observations and assessments, and establishing positive relationships with pupils. The role emphasizes promoting inclusion, safety, and equal access to learning opportunities for all students. You will also assist with personal care, basic first aid (with training), and behaviour management under the guidance of a teacher. Clerical duties such as preparing resources, photocopying, and maintaining records are also part of the role. This is a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.
